Alberto Alonso Rimo is tenured professor of criminal law at the School of Law of the University of Valencia (Spain). He holds a degree in law (prize for distinction), 1993, and a Phd in law (prize for outstanding doctoral dissertation), 2000, from the University of Valencia (Spain). He is author and editor of several books and he has published a large number of papers (see in detail below) He has been visiting researcher in several foreign Universities and research Centres as the Max-Planck-Institut für Strafrecht (Germany), Harvard University (USA), Università di Modena (Italy), Columbia University (USA), New York University (USA) and Oxford University (UK). His research activity has been carried out in the framework of numerous competitive and funded research projects, some of them international. From 2017 to 2020 he has been principal researcher of a project funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities on "Preventive criminal justice and protection of public order" (DER2016-77947-R) involving 25 researchers from various national and foreign universities (https://www.uv.es/institute-criminology-criminal-science/en/investigacio/projectes-d-investigacio/vigents-1285968353051/ProjecteInves.html?id=1286000492470). Since 2015 he leads a research group at the University of Valencia on criminal law of dangerousness. Other of his research areas are: criminalization of preparatory acts and inchoate offences, terrorism offences and fundamental rights, criminalization of social protest, criminal security measures, crimes against road safety, public disorders, the role of the victim in the criminal justice system. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Criminal Law I (General Part) and Criminal Law II (Special Part), and he has also taught Victimology, Penitentiary Law, Criminal Policy and Constitution and Criminal Law. He has worked as a deputy judge in Spain. |

Maria Amparo Ballester Pastor has been a Senior Professor of Labor and Social Security Law at the University of Valencia since 2008 and advisor to the Economic and Social Council of Spain (expert by Government appointment) since 2024. She has been educated at the University of Valencia and Cornell University (United States). She directed the University Institute of Women's Studies (2016-2020) and the Chair of Feminist Economics (2018-2019), at the University of Valencia. She was vice president of EUFEM (University Platform for Feminist and Gender Studies) and co-president of the Equality Commission of the Spanish Association of Labor Law and Social Security (2018 and 2019). Professor Ballester Pastor has dedicated a good part of her professional career to research on gender discrimination in the workplace and social security, which has been reflected in numerous publications. She has also researched employment discrimination for other reasons (particularly age), conciliation/co-responsibility/working time, rights of migrant workers, fundamental rights in the labor dimension, temporary hiring, social law of the European Union, prevention regulations of occupational risks, and Social Security. She has carried out several comparative law investigations based on funded stays at foreign universities where she has been a visiting professor, among which Stockholm University can be highlighted (carrying out research funded in 1996 on the reform of the pension system that was later the subject of publication) or Mac Gill University in Montreal (conducting funded research in 2010 on Age and Gender Discrimination that resulted in several publications). She has been the Main Investigator in several competitive research projects, one financed with funds from the European Union (international project 'Culture, custom and gender' 2002-2004). She has been an evaluator of undergraduate and postgraduate university and teaching degrees for the Andalusian Knowledge Agency. She has been an expert in evaluating Legal Sciences teachers for the Spanish Agency of Evaluation -ANECA- (2010-2018) and has been part of various evaluation commissions for research projects in Spain and Chile. She has been an external evaluator for various legal journals and has been part of the scientific committees of many projects, conferences, and seminars. In the field of knowledge transfer, she has collaborated with different union entities, business organizations, professional associations, local entities, regional administrations, and other types of entities in the transference of research results. She has been part of the teams that have prepared three bills registered in the Congress of Deputies: a bill for equal pay between women and men (registered in October 2017), a bill against precariousness and for employment stability (registered in June 2018) and a bill on co-responsible working time (registered in November 2018). Outside the strict university environment, her professional activity has had various aspects: She was a substitute Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community from 1996 to 2015. From 2015 to 2019 she was part of the European Network of Legal Experts in Gender Equality and non-discrimination, an advisory body to the European Commission on gender matters. Between 2020 and 2023 she carried out senior positions in the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy of Spain: From 2020 to 2021 she was the Chief of the Cabinet of the Minister of Labor and Social Economy of Spain. And, from April 2021 to November 2023, she was the Chief of Legal Coordination of the Second Vice President of the Government. During her years of activity in the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, she participated in the negotiation and preparation of legal regulations, including, among others, RD 901/2020 on equality plans; RD 902/2020 on equal pay; RDL 28/2020, on remote work; RDL 9/2021, known as the "rider" law; or RDL 32/2021 on labor reform. Associate professor in Procedural Law Department. Degree in Law and in Business Administration (University of Valencia, 2009), Executive Master in Business Law (Centro de Estudios Garrigues, 2012), Master's Degree in Human Rights, Democracy and International Justice (University of Valencia, 2014) and PhD in Law (University of Valencia, 2018). Her current research focuses on procedural mechanisms for the protection of human rights, both judicial and extrajudicial, an area in which the study on the protection of environmental rights through the criminal justice system should be highlighted. She has also worked on other aspects related to procedural rights and guarantees, such as the right to defence, the right to appeal or the admissibility of witness evidence, among others. She has been visiting researcher in the following centres: Universidad Central de Chile, Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Heidelberg), Centre for Environmental and Global Justice (Northumbria University), Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (University of Oslo), International Association Human Rights Institute (London). Member of the MEDARB research group at the University of Valencia and Head of the Criminal Procedural Law Section of the Ibero-American Law Institute. Award for Teaching Excellence, from the Social Council of the University of Valencia and the Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sport of the Generalitat Valenciana (2016). She is a member, as a jurist of recognised prestige, of the Advisory Commission on Valencian Civil Law of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV Núm. 8397, de 4/10/2018). He has also written more than 100 articles and contributions to collective books in prestigious journals and publishing houses on subjects related to civil law (credit information systems, real estate credit, housing, insurance contracts, data protection, matrimonial property law, valencian civil law, leases, agrarian law, property, inheritance, mediation, etc.). His main lines of research include those related to the economic regime of marriage, housing, credit guarantees, data protection, Valencian civil law and agricultural law. Throughout her career as a researcher, she has taken part in numerous R&D projects funded by the Ministry of Education and the Generalitat Valenciana on property law, banking contracts, legal persons, Valencian and European private law, insurance contracts and corporate social responsibility. Currently, she is Director of the UV Registered Research Group "Wellfare, Insurance and Pensions" (WIP) -GIUV2017-399-. She participates in the Editorial Board and as an external evaluator of several legal journals. She has been a post-doctoral researcher at the following universities: King's College (London); University of London. Since the beginning of her activity she has been actively involved in educational innovation tasks, directing teaching innovation projects continuously since the 2012-2013 academic year. She is currently Permanent Labor Professor of Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València and Collaborating Professor of Civil Law at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. In the field of management, is from 2021 Vice-Dean of Economics, Analysis, Planning and Campus and President of the Equality Commission of the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia since 2021, and member of the Senate of the University of Valencia since 2022. Awarded in the I Edition CERMI Awards. Category 3 Institutional: Impact of the UN Convention on Persons with Disabilities in 2019. She is co-director of the postgraduate course, together with Jorge Cardona i Llorens, "Rights of Children and Adolescents: Contexts of application and rights approach" (4th edition). She has several postgraduate degrees and experience in research contracts, as well as a long teaching career at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, both in Spain, such as the Master of Law (Practice in Family and Inheritance Law) or the Master of Constitutional Law (Constitutional typologies of property law and the social function of property) or the Diploma of Expert in Childhood and Adolescence mentioned above; and internationally in the Master of Constitutional Law at the Autonomous University of Honduras (Constitutional typologies of property law and social function of property). She has a recognized five-year degree and is accredited by the Docentia program with the highest qualification. Dr. Adrián Todolí Signes is a Professor of Labour and Social Security Law at the University of Valencia. He holds degrees in both Economics and Law. He has published more than 157 research items, including peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and book chapters. Specifically, his academic output includes: a) 68 articles in indexed journals; b) 69 book chapters; c) editor of 8 collective volumes; and d) 7 single-author monographs. Among these publications, 8 articles have been published in English in leading international journals. Additionally, he has presented his research in a total of 70 scientific conferences, including papers, presentations, and invited lectures. Most of these conferences have been international, held in prestigious institutions such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the University of Cambridge, among many others. He has also been invited on more than 100 occasions to deliver lectures and talks in institutions, trade unions, employers’ organisations, labour inspectorates, etc. Notably, he has been invited to speak at events organised by the ILO (in 2018 and 2022), the European Commission, and UNIGLOBAL (at its 2022 international conference). He was invited by the European Commission (DG Employment) as a national expert to participate in a conference on working conditions and youth employment, and later in another on Artificial Intelligence during the legislative process of the AI Regulation (2023). In the same year, he was appointed by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) as an expert for its opinion on the twin digital and green transitions. He was also appointed by the ILO as an expert for the drafting of an international convention on decent platform work. He has authored four monographs on wages, including topics such as wage revision, bonuses, wage supplements, and remuneration in the public sector. Additionally, he has published other major works, including Work in the Era of the Collaborative Economy (2017), Labour Regulation and Economic Policy: How Labour Rights Improve the Economy (2022), and Productive and Extractive Algorithms (2023). He has been awarded the Best Young Lawyer Prize by the Spanish Labour Law Forum (FORELAB), and the Best Labour Law Research Award by the Spanish Association of Labour and Social Security Law (AEDTSS) twice — in 2015 and 2016 — for his work on dual vocational training and performance-based remuneration systems. His international academic projection is further evidenced by research stays in prestigious universities and research centres. The first was at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, under the supervision of Prof. Gillian Lester, a globally recognised labour law expert (currently Dean of Columbia Law School, New York). UC Berkeley is ranked among the top five universities worldwide. His second research stay took place at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge, ranked as the second-best law faculty in the world (after Harvard). His third stay was at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich, also internationally renowned. He has also conducted research at the University of Paris X Nanterre and the University of Vienna. He is also the coordinator of the blog “Argumentos en Derecho Laboral”.

Juan Antonio Ureña Salcedo, es Doctor en Derecho (2004) y Profesor Titular de Derecho administrativo en la Universitat de València (2008) Ha sido abogado en ejercicio del Colegio de Abogados de Valencia (1998-2000), Abogado del Estado habilitado (2010), Director y Secretario del Departamento de Derecho administrativo y procesal de la Universitat de València (2010-2011, 2007-2008). Ha asesorado a distintas entidades, públicas y privadas, sobre variadas cuestiones de derecho administrativo desde el año 2001, así como impartido docencia, dictado conferencias o participado en otras actividades académico-docentes en la Universidad Toulouse I Capitole, en la Universidad de Siena, en la IUAV de Venecia, en la Facultad de Derecho de La Habana, en la SPISA de Bolonia, en la Universidad San Francisco-Xavier de Chuquisaca (Bolivia), en las Facultades de Jurisprudencia y de Ciencias Políticas de la Universidad Roma Tre (Italia), en la Facultad de Derecho de Bucarest (Rumanía), en la Defensoría del Pueblo de Caracas (Venezuela), en la Universidad “Tor Vergata” de Roma y en otras Universidades españolas (por ejemplo en la de Santiago de Compostela, la de Murcia, la de Castilla-La Mancha, la Carlos III de Madrid o la de Alicante). También ha desarrollado trabajos de investigación, entre otras Universidades no citadas todavía, en las de París I y II (en este último caso en el Instituto de investigación en Propiedad intelectual), en la Universidad Libre de Bruselas, en la Universidad de Ginebra y en la Universidad de Edimburgo.
Ha intervenido en un buen número de jornadas o cursos (22) fuera de la Universitat de València, dirigidos a la mejora de la formación de funcionarios de distintas Administraciones públicas. Ha impartido cursos para la Federación valenciana de municipios y provincias, para la Generalitat Valenciana, para la Escola Galega de Administración Pública, para el Instituto Valenciano de Administración Pública, para el Colegio Oficial de Trabajadores Sociales de Valencia, para la Diputación Provincial de Valencia, para la Escuela de Negocios Lluís Vives de la Cámara de Comercio de Valencia, para el Instituto Valenciano de Seguridad Pública, para el Instituto Nacional de Administración Pública de Brasil o para algunos ayuntamientos.
Entre sus publicaciones, sobre muy diversas cuestiones de derecho público, destacan sus trabajos sobre el sistema bancario y sobre Administración y derechos de propiedad intelectual. Fue docente en los cursos de doctorado de derecho administrativo (curso 2006-2007, 2009-2010) en el Máster interuniversitario en Gestión y Promoción del Desarrollo Local (2007-2008), en el Máster de Derecho Administrativo y de la Administración Pública de la Universitat de Valencia (2011-2012 hasta 2015-2016), en el Máster de Estudios Internacionales y de la Unión Europea (desde el año 2009-2010 hasta la actualidad), y en el Máster de Derecho de la Empresa (desde el curso 2012-2013 hasta la actualidad). Fuera de la Universidad de Valencia también ha impartido docencia oficial en el Máster Universitario en Propiedad Intelectual de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, (curso 2016-2017); en la Maestría en Derecho Constitucional y administrativo de la Universidad de La Habana, (2015-2016), en la Universidad de San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca (Bolivia) durante el año 2006, en la Maestría en Derecho constitucional de la Defensoría del Pueblo de Venezuela (curso 2013-2014), y en la Universidad de Alicante. Fue codirector, durante los cursos 2012-2013, y 2013-2014, del Diploma de Post-grado en gestión legal y empresarial de la música, y director y único responsable del diseño del certificado en gestión legal de la música, impartidos en la Fundación ADEIT de Valencia.
