The research unit "Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience" is an interdisciplinary line of research where the biological bases of behavior are studied, highlighting the importance of cognitive and affective processes and their relation to adaptive / maladaptive behavior. This line of research addresses diverse topics with the aim of describing, understanding and finally explaining human behavior from the point of view of neuroscience. In addition, the work carried out is characterized by multidisciplinary collaboration with researchers from other departments, faculties and universities. This line covers studies of the effects of stress on health, social stress in relation to competition, conflict and how some interventions can improve performance. Also, we are working with the effects of music on emotions and their possible therapeutic application. In short, the objective of this line is to study which variables are relevant to favor an adaptive / healthy behavior.
