Olvido García Valdés is already “one of the most important writers of Spanish contemporary poetry” (Eduardo Milán). The poems in “The animal's only” show once again a unique and recognisable voice, which however refuses to be settled, facing instead new risks every time, always with remarkable results. “Lo solo del animal” proposes a meditation on the animal element in loneliness, a non-verbal place, of existence, which comprises all beings, but which opens here to knowledge and sharpens in consciousness
