On April 14, 2026, from 8:30 to 10:00, Lara Tanger (The Netherlands) will deliver the lecture “Complexities in Anorexia Nervosa Treatment: The Importance of Trauma-Informed Approaches”. It will take place in person in Room 6 of the Faculty.
Summary: This lecture explores the complexities of treating Anorexia Nervosa within specialized mental health care, with a focus on the importance of trauma-informed approaches. The session will be interactive, including opportunities for clinical case discussions and the exchange of students' reflections.
Bio: Lara Tanger is a child and adolescent therapist (MSc) working in specialized mental health care in the Netherlands. She specialises in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and has a strong commitment to trauma-informed and somatic approaches. She gained experience in eating disorder treatment during her clinical placement at Amsterdam UMC and through research conducted in Australia. In her lecture, she shares professional and personal perspectives on the complexities of this field.
This activity is part of the Internationalization at Home Program of the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy and is open to all students and professor of the Universitat de València.
