Online lecture “The Brain of a Bimodal Bilingual”

On May 6, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30, Eva Gutiérrez-Sigut (University of Essex, United Kingdom) will deliver the lecture “The Brain of a Bimodal Bilingual” via videoconference.

Abstract: In this lecture, Dr. Gutiérrez-Sigut will explain the psycholinguistic implications of bimodal bilingualism (communication through a spoken language and a sign language).

Bio: Eva Gutiérrez-Sigut is a researcher in the Department of Psychology at the University of Essex (United Kingdom). Her work focuses on bilingualism, language processing, and the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying communication in both spoken and signed languages, with particular attention to bimodal bilingual populations.
