Company collaboration

What are collaboration agreements?

Promoting collaboration with other entities is one of the ways in which the UV demonstrates its commitment to socio-economic development and contributes to the furthering of the business fabric and improving quality of life. This collaboration takes on many forms, such as the establishment of contracts under Article 60 of the Organic Law 2/2023 of 22 March of the university System (LOSU) or collaboration agreements with public and private entities in which researchers from the Universitat de València contribute to the dissemination of socioeconomic knowledge and technologies resulting from these collaborations.

These agreements include the following:

  • Subject matter and technical characteristics
  • Conditions regarding confidentiality
  • Period of collaboration
  • Budget
  • Ownership of the results
  • Exploitation rights
  • Researchers of the team

When are collaboration agreements needed?

Any activity related to science, technology, the humanities, the arts or educational training conducted by research staff of the Universitat de València in collaboration with third parties must first be channelled through a collaboration agreement or through a Knowledge Transfer contract signed under Article 60 of the Organic Law on the University System of the Universitat de València.

Who is this for?

The information on this page on collaborations with companies is meant for research groups, departments and university research institutes recognised by the Universitat de València, as well as their teaching staff, both through the aforementioned entities and through the bodies, centres, foundations or similar organisational structures dedicated to channelling the research initiatives of teaching staff and the transfer of research results.

These agreements are also directed at individuals, universities and public or private entities interested in contracting the Universitat de València to carry out projects or research related to science, technology, the humanities and the arts or to conduct specific training activities.

How do I start?

Whether you are UV staff or a company, organisation or individual interested in working with research staff from the Universitat de València, you should contact the Contracted R+D+I Section of the Universitat de València before beginning negotiations. According to the nature of the work to be carried out, the Section’s staff will advise the parties, ensure that the most appropriate terms are negotiated and draft or review contracts or agreements prior to signature.
