The group's activity is carried out within the area of Greek Philology, so that it always has as its basis and objective the analysis of texts. Within this framework, different lines of research are included due to the methodology and objectives of each one: part of the group studies the expression of women as a group of speakers, necessarily heterogeneous, but which shares sociolectal features that identify them; the entire group deals with the analysis of texts of whatever origin, both from the set of genres of ancient Greek literature, including their reception within contemporary and later literary traditions, and from the rest of the uses of writing within both the public and private spheres; the entire group also addresses the transfer of written discourse to the social and cultural levels, evaluating the inter-influence of language -and of literature as a linguistic creation that it is- and social discourse.

• The main objective of the group is to insert the research of Greek Philology within the studies of gender, with which we intend to converge. The distinction between the problem of sex, typical of social, cultural and religious uses, and that of gender, typical of the conceptualization of the opposition of feminine and masculine as a construct of language, thought and law, allows us to separate different methodological tools, always complementary for an exhaustive investigation. The methodological structure of the lines of research described above are those of Greek Philology, and by extension of Classical Philology: analysis of the text from itself through the identification and explanation of all the phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic and stylistic phenomena that characterize it; comparison of the text with those with which it has an affinity, even if it is partial; and attention to its transmission, with the aim of restoring -with the exception of material documentation arrived through archaeological means, both epigraphic and papyrological- the original text to the extent possible. For these tasks we have a wide range of auxiliary disciplines, without forgetting modern ones such as the digital treatment of texts or the applications of archaeoastronomy, to mention just two. Specific objectives of the ongoing activities are the following: establishment of the identifying features of the feminine sociolect, with attention to the periods and literary genres in which it is documented; study of the treatment of the feminine grammatical gender throughout the history of the Greek language, with special attention to attitudes of discrimination, negligence, concealment or confusion; application of gender analysis to non-literary texts specific to medicine and law, with the aim of evaluating the real conditions of women's lives; and study of the mythemes used by literary authors to express feminine discourse or to characterize female characters -human or not-. Always alongside research, a dissemination objective is equally necessary to promote and improve debate. For this reason, a double action is also envisaged, on the one hand the convening of open meetings in a hybrid format, face-to-face and online, within a permanent seminar that will be structured around pre-established topics with a quarterly calendar; and on the other hand through the maintenance of a blog that will include various information -conference activities; publications; news about courses, scholarships, exchanges- and a specialized bibliography.
