Credit recognition information

Degree and Master's Degree credits recognition

The application is submitted during the enrollment through Service Portal / Administrative Procedures /Credit Acknowledgment.

The application should be supported by the credit reference documents included in the regulation through Service Portal/ Administrative Procedures /Credit Acknowledgment.

Otherwise, the period of 5 days will be granted to finalize the documentation. It after this period, the documentation is not completed, it will be understood that the applicant withdraws his petition and the order declaring the withdraws will be issued.

Required documentation:

  • Official academic certificate including subject names and credits.
  • Course guide or programme of the subjects, academic course and call the student passed them, as well as their score.
  • In case necessary, include the Diploma Suplement (SET).

If the recognised credits come from studies made at the Faculty of Social Sciences, only the application will be necessary.

For studies from foreign centres of higher education in countries outside the European Union, the documentation must be attached properly legalised and translated by a sworn translator of one of the two languages used in Universitat de València. 

Fees:

If the application is accepted and resolved, a receipt will be generated for the person to pay the fee stablished by Generalitat de València (25 % of the recognised credits).

Recognition and transference of credits fee exemptions:

  • Degree students of basic character for unfinished university studies from the Valencian public university system will be exempt. This exemption will only be valid for one Degree change and in one direction only. It won't be valid for students changing back to their original degree.
  • Students of double degrees organised by degrees of Valencian public universities will be exempt.
  • Students continuing their studies in a new degree or Master's Degree cutting the studies they were previously in, according to the correspondent and verified memory, will be exempt.
  • Credit recognition from subscribed students to mobility programmes or agreements will be exempt.

 Art. 11 Decree 101/2024, on 2 August, of the Council, which regulated public prices for academic and university complementary academic services.

Credit recognition for degrees from Advanced Vocational Training programmes

Required documentation:

· Official academic certificate.

· Advanced Vocational Training Certificate.

Fees

For accepted and resolved applications, a receipt will be generated for the person to pay the fee stablished in the Art. 4 Decree 101/2024, on 2 August, of the Council, which regulated public prices for academic services (25 % of the recognised credits).

 

Credit recognition from professional experience

This recognition modality is regulated by articles 4 and 11 of the UV Credit Recognition and Transference Regulations.

1. Accredited professional experienced can also be recognised as valid credits to obtain the official certificate as long as this experience is tightly related with the knowledge and skills of the degree.

2. The academic commission responsible for the official degree will determine the minimum period of professional experience accredited required to apply and obtain the credit recognition. This period will never be less than 6 months.  

The recognition will relate, generally, to the 'Internship' subject.

The total recognised credits cannot exceed the 15 % of the degree's total credits.

Required documentation:

  • Company or body certificate indicating the person has is a professional working for it, and the period they have been working for, which must correspond to that stated in the professional report.
  • Professional Life Report for accredited time in the contributing group the person considers relates to the skills included in the studies.

If the activity was done as a freelance worker, the documentation must include:

  • Tax certificate, professional board certificate or other documentation to accredit the effective professional exercise as a freelance worker.

Fees:

If the application is accepted and resolved, a receipt will be generated for the person to pay the fee stablished in 
Art. 4 Decree 101/2024, on 2 August, of the Council, which regulates public prices for academic services (100% of the recognised credits).

Credit recognition for university activities participation

 

Students can recognise up to 6 ECTS Credits  for participating in university cultural, sports, student representation, volunteering and cooperation activities carried by Universitat de València during the studies period and according to Universitat de València Regulations.
Check the list of UV activities that may provide credits on the Student Service Website.

The recognition application must be made simultaneously and once the student has enrolled for all necessary credits to finish their studies except for optional classes (which they will make an application to recognise the credits for). This is important since once enrolled, students cannot withdraw from optional classes due to this process.

The application is made during the academic year, on the 
Electronic Register indicating the kind of body it is aimed for: Faculty of social Sciences. Attach a scanned copy of the certificates for the university activities for recognition.

Once the documentation is checked and if the application is accepted and resolved, the person will receive a notification from the UV for the generation of a receipt of the stablished fee by the 
Art. 4 Decree 101/2024, 2 August, of the Council, which regulated the public prices for academic services (25 % of the recognised credits), available on the Online Office. Once the fee is paid, the credits will be added to the student file.
