The Round University Ranking (RUR), an international classification that measures performance in teaching (40% of total), research (40%), international diversity (10%) and financial sustainability (10%) in 818 universities in 80 countries through 20 indicators, has classified the University of Valencia (UV) as the first Valencian higher education centre and number 151 in Europe. In addition, the institution stands out in the indicators articles by research income (world position 77) and impact of normalised citations (position 231).

This classification updated today Wednesday establishes that the University of Valencia also stands out and has improved compared to last year in world reputation for research, an indicator with a relevance of 8% of the weight (position 277, by 303 in 2019) and reputation outside from the region (2%), where it has climbed to position 276 from position 343 last year. In addition, the UV is number 271 in the world in percentage of international articles co-authored.

This ranking is led globally by Harvard University, the California Institute of Technology and the Imperial College London. In Europe, the first three are Imperial College London, Oxford and Cambridge, while in Spain the ranking is led by the university of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Madrid. The University of Valencia occupies positions 9 in Spain (the best position in the last ten years) and 380 in the world (342 the previous year).
