Academic, scientific or professional interest: The main objective of the master's degree is to train experts in Criminal Law who execute correctly their competences in the diverse social areas where they perform their function. This training is aimed at various groups. On the one hand, students and professionals who want to do their doctoral thesis about criminal law.
On the other hand, those who want to research or to develop their academic career in this specialisation. In this context it is convenient to indicate that the criminal Law has traditionally been, and remains, one of the preferred options by the students who choose these professional opportunities, highlighting the high percentage of students with an excellent academic record.
It is also suitable for the graduates who want to break into the labour market, assuming attributions in the criminal field. Also for those who are already working and want to get specialised in this branch or widen their knowledge. The people who inscribe to this group are mainly lawyers, attorneys, judges, public prosecutors and other members of the judicial staff who want to update and perfection their training, some to improve their performance, others to doctorate, or in the case of the magistrates, to obtain the penal speciality that enables them to access specific positions. Lastly, it is aimed at students who want to prepare for public examinations to get admitted in the public sector, in which syllabus Criminal law matters are included. On the other hand, the proposed qualification is oriented to complement the Official Master’s Degree in Legal Practice and Representation via the high specialisation of criminal lawyers.
