The Degree in Sport and Physical Activity offered by the University of Valencia aims to provide a basic education applied to physical activity and various kinds of sports, as well as an awareness of their physiological, psychological and social foundations.
In order to gain admission to this degree, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences organizes selective physical aptitude tests. However, passing the physical tests alone does not guarantee students’ admission. Admission to the degree depends on the mark obtained in the university access tests, depending on the number of places on offer.
The aptitude tests consist of a battery of trials which allow for the physical state of aspiring students to be evaluated. In these tests, amongst others, the physical condition, coordinative ability and aquatic skills of the student will be assessed. The education provided is based on a demanding programme of practical sessions which is adapted to the requirements of each of the areas of vocational training, whether basic or applied.
The optional subjects are based on three professional areas: sports administration and recreation, physical activity and quality of life and sport performance.
