Description

This small room, located between the principal offices and the Duc de Calàbria Hall, contains part of the bequest of José María Moles, who donated his collection of books and furniture to the Universitat in 1885. The objects here were among the furnishings of his literary salon. The set, carved in walnut in a Neo-Grec style with decorative inscriptions and other carvings, includes a large book cabinet, two smaller matching cabinets, a table, two armchairs and eight chairs, decorated with emblems and names of playwrights. A large wooden targa inscribed with the dictum Todo por Valencia y para Valencia, four smaller targas and a portrait of Queen Isabella II complete the decoration of the room.
