On Thursday, May 19 at 11 am, the exhibition '' Malheridos. The footprint of time in the REBIUN libraries”, a project organized by the Vicerectorat d’Investigació and the Biblioteca Històrica that invites us to delve into the universe of books and learn about the various factors that threaten their survival and conservation.

The exhibition is held within the framework of the III Conference on Bibliographic Heritage Management organized by the REBIUN Bibliographic Heritage Working Group and the Biblioteca Històrica, which, on this occasion and on May 26 and 27, have their headquarters in the Botanical Garden.

The exhibition, curated by the restorers of the Servei de Biblioteques i documentació of the Universitat de València, Susana González Martínez and Mónica Pintado Antúnez, through a selection of more than fifty documents, including seven manuscripts and five incunabula, exhibit the main causes capable of altering its integrity, as is the case of the merciless action of censorship; the devastation caused by catastrophes; the effects derived from the degradation of the materials that make them up; the effect of biological agents, capable of producing its destruction; or the factor that most affects bibliographic and documentary heritage, the human factor.

The exhibition can be visited in the Sala Duc de Calàbria of the Biblioteca Històrica, in the La Nau Centre Cultural de la Universitat de València, until September 4, 2022.
