    Inauguració de l'exposició: La memòria de Jaume I. Edicions i traduccions del Llibre dels fets

    Dita exposició s'inaugura dins de la JORNADA COMMEMORATIVA DEL 750 ANIVERSARI DE LA MORT DEL REI JAUME I, el propvinent dilluns, 27 de juliol, amb diferents actes, dins dels quals estaran:

    A l'Aula Magna de la Universitat de València:

         16:00 h Inauguració de la Jornada. Salutació del Sr. Rector de la UV Juan Luis Gandía Cabedo. Intervenció del Sr. President de l'AVCO (Acadèmia Valenciana de Cronistes Oficials), Josep Ramon Sanchis Alfonso.

          16:20-17:00 h Conferència del Dr. Vicent Josep Escartí, Catedràtic de la UV: "La memòria de Jaume I. Edicions i traduccions del Llibre dels feits". 

     

     A la Sala Duc de Calàbria de la Biblioteca Històrica:

         17:10 h Inauguració de l'Exposició: "La memòria de Jaume I".  Intervencions de Na Maria Jesús García Mateu, Directora de la BH, i del En Antoni Ferrando Francés (AVCO), Comissari de l'Exposició.

    L'exposició romandrà oberta del 27 de juliol fins al 27 de setembre de 2026.

    Presentation of the book Centenar de la Ploma

    On June 30 at 7 p.m., the book will be presented in the Duc de Calàbria room:: "El retaule de Sant Jordi de la companyia del Centenar de la Ploma de la ciutat de València" d'Antoni José i Pitarch i Maria Antònia Alsina Alsina.  In addition to the authors, Maria Jesús Garcia Mateu, director of Biblioteca Històrica and Mateu Rodrigo Lizondo, honorary professor of Medieval History of the UV, will speak.

    Exposure in preparation: The memory of Jaume I.Editions and translations of the Llibre dels fets

       King Jaume I must have been well aware of the power of writing. He knew that it was a way of transcending time, of prolonging his memory beyond his own life. That is why the king ordered the elaboration of the Llibre dels fets, a writing that is presented as an autobiography, written in the first person of the plural and that presents as a particularity the fact that it embraces the whole life of the monarch (1208-1276), and that it is the only autobiographical text of a medieval European monarch.

       The exhibition will take a tour of the history of the editions of the Llibre dels fets, the memorial work of the King En Jaume that, written in our language, is a classic of our literature, one of the greatest references of our culture and, for Valencians, a founding text. It will open on 27 July 2026 and will remain open until 27 September 2026.

    Closure La Nau Building for the Serenates

    On the occasion of the celebration of SERENATES 2026, the NAU building will close its doors at 20:00, from June 18 to July 2, forcing the modification of the schedule of the Biblioteca Històrica that will advance half an hour its closure (20:00 h).

    Book presentation "Los libros de Francisco Pérez Bayer y el origen de la Biblioteca Universitaria de Valencia”.

       On Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m., the book "Los libros de Francisco Pérez Bayer y el origen de la Biblioteca Universitaria de València”, by Barbara Barberà Matías, will be presented in the sala Duc de Calàbria.
       The book is no.4 of the Inutilitas Librorum, within the Cinc Segles collection, the result of the collaboration between Biblioteca Històrica de la Universitat de València and publishing house Publicacions de la Universitat (PUV).
