TeLL-ME members and collaborators presented two papers on the use of ChatGPT for academic writing and autonomous writing development.

On 18 June, TeLL-ME research group members Anabel Martínez and Lucía Bellés, together with Begoña Clavel and Irene Guzmán, participated in the 2nd Teaching Innovation Conference, “The Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Video in Language Classrooms: Teaching Practices”, organized by the language education research group GIEL INNOVACIÓ within the framework of the PIEC-3900047 project “Audiovisual Productions and Artificial Intelligence in the Language Classroom: Teaching Experiences in Video Creation”, held at the Faculty of Teacher Training of the Universitat de València.

During the conference, the researchers presented two papers focused on the application of generative artificial intelligence to language teaching and learning. First, Lucía Bellés and Irene Guzmán presented the paper “ChatGPT como herramienta de ayuda a la escritura académica en IFE/AICLE: Evidencia desde las Ciencias Sociales”, which examined the potential of ChatGPT as a support tool for academic writing processes in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) contexts.

In addition, Anabel Martínez and Begoña Clavel presented the paper “El paper de ChatGPT en el desenvolupament de l’escriptura autònoma en l’estudiantat d’anglés”, which explored the potential of this tool to foster learner autonomy in English-language writing.

Participation in the conference provided an opportunity to share teaching experiences and research findings with the academic community interested in the integration of artificial intelligence into language teaching and learning processes.
