Work placements

Work placements are essentially a training activity for the students, who are supervised by a tutor at their company or institution, and by an academic tutor of the University of Valencia. Their main objective is to enable students to apply and to help them complement the knowledge they have acquired throughout their academic training, whilst at the same time utilising their acquired skills that have prepared them for the professional world, facilitated their employment and encouraged their entrepreneurial ability.

Universitat de València considers internships an important an crucial methodology for learning and preparation of students, as well as bonding with society. Thus it has its own regulations. Each university centre has an internships committee with the mission of promoting and supervising educative internships academically.

There are two types of internships: curricular and extracurricular. Curricular internships are integrated in the degree programme and pertain to a module or subject. Extracurricular internships are voluntary activities of students during their studies but are not officialy part of their studies.

Regarding internships in contact with minors and complying Law 26/2015 on 28 July of system modification for childrent and adolescent protection, students must provide the negative certificate of the Sex Offenders Central Register issued by the Ministry of Justice.
