The University of Valencia’s Botanical Garden has a new online collaboration tool about plants. ‘Espores. La veu del Botànic’ has been created with the objective of informing about everything related to the world of botanic, the environment, the landscape and its conservation. Among the current articles there are some about vertical gardens, solar trees, cinema landscapes, Valencian vegetables, place names of the city of Valencia related to nature and the secrets of algae.
With new contents every day, Espores is divided into seven different sections: botanic, gardening, conservation, agriculture, investigation, green leisure and plants. The articles approach to the reader to other gardens of the world, offer advice for crops or planting, talk about the latest botanic researches and also inform about everything related to ecology and sustainability. Espores wants to pass on the Botanical Garden, and all it represents and work for, outside its immediate view, so everyone could have access to any simple, current and rigorous information about plants.
Apart from the different sections, the most important factors are the collaborators. There are about 23 bloggers who have written Espores and have talked about their work, associations, experience and have also shared their knowledge. Disseminators, researchers, students, artists, landscapers, technicians and professors, among other professionals, form a group that will be extended with time to cover all the subjects and potential visions.
Espores was first published in 2012 and it has many challenges ahead in 2013. One of its most important challenges is to increase the number of collaboratos, readers and of course, the quality of its contents. Among the current articles there are some about vertical gardens, solar trees, cinema landscapes, Valencian vegetables, place names of the city of Valencia related to nature and the secrets of algae. But Espores, as a good vegetal structure, hides so much more.
