The Botanic Garden has started the month on Saturday 8 June with an initial jazz concert in its annual cycle 'The Ages of Jazz', by the Sedajazz Band. This year, the cycle Botanical Jazz wants to show that this style has no age nor specific audience profile. That is why it started with a musical concert for children and for babies, and now it brings a didactic proposal that directly engages the people.
But this is just the beginning of all the musical offerings. Today Tuesday, 11 June, there is the classical music performance piano recital of Antonio Galera. The repertoire includes Schubert and Debussy among others, and the concert is part of the classical cycle organized by the Music Hall of the University of Valencia.
And for lovers of choral music, the Garden proposed for 13 June a free concert by the children of Choir School of Gaos Vicent Public School, who will delight the audience with their melodious voices to celebrate their fifteen formative years.
In the weekend, specifically on 15 June night, the offer is doubled. On the one hand, the Garden hosts the third edition of the series 'In the Botanical Moon', a unique opportunity to enjoy the Garden at night listening to the best music mixed with literature and poetry. Fil per Randa offers 'Poetry in Times of Crisis', a musical and night recital with a special selection of twentieth-century literary texts, interpreted by actors Miguel Avalos, Teresa Bruno Meana and Tamarit, accompanied by the music of pianist Rafael Fenollosa.
On the other hand, the Garden will receive expectantly Valencian singer-songwriter Pau Alabajos, inspired by the texts of the of the Valencian Country Mural from Vicent Andrés Estellés. An innovative show that will capture the essence of the recent history of the territory from a artistic and intimate point of view. The singer from Torrent parks his trusty guitar to get into the field of literature and Rhapsody, through the sensitivity of his voice.
Finally, the end of June brings a concert to listen to swing and dance outdoors in the evening of 30 June. Le Dancing Pepa Swing Band is a Valencian band formed by a selection of All Stars of the new generation of Jazzmen of our territory. Looking for the best combination of Classic Swing, they count on feature piano, drums and bass as a rhythm section, and trombone, trumpet and soprano saxophone for the melody part. In addition, you can find Lindy Hop's fans dancing till they drop, and a unique opportunity to encourage people with them.
