
The seminar 'The power of the consumer in an unjust food system: conscious and responsible consumption as tools for a change' will be held on 13 and 14 December at the Cultural Centre La Nau of the University of Valencia. CERAI and Oxfam Intermón have organized this meeting with the aim of raising awareness about the impact of daily decisions as consumers in economically impoverished countries and its impact on changing attitudes and criteria for responsible consumption.
The seminar, which will have an expected duration of two days, is aimed at all kinds of people interested in the topic of responsible consumption and development cooperation, and especially those who want to know those initiatives on alternative consumption being carried out in the province of Valencia.
The sessions cover two round tables, attended, among others, Gustavo Duch, coordinator of the magazine 'Soberanía Alimentaria, Biodiversidad y Culturas' (Food Sovereignty, Biodiversity and Cultures), Alicia Amarilla, national coordinator of CONAMURI (Paraguay) and Saloua Badaoui, representing the Forum des Femmes au Rif (Morocco). In addition, several workshops will be held to present initiatives and responsible consumption of proximity.
Admission is free until full capacity, although those wishing to receive a certificate of participation in the seminar have to register via the following form.
