A concert took place yesterday at 19:30 in Capilla hall at La Nau titled ‘Concert Música a l’entorn de Joan Fuster’. It was organized by the university’s music club and by the Chair Joan Fuster. This concert was part of the events commemorating the 50th anniversary of the publication of ‘Nosaltres, els valencians’, the 20th anniversary of his passing and the 90th anniversary of his birth.
The interpreters of the concert were the soprano Maria de los Llanos and Adrià Gràcia, pianist. The programme included music for several poems by Apel•les Mestres, Xavier Casp, Bernat Artola, Maria Antònia Salvà, Miquel Duran, Lluís Guarner, Francesc Almela i Vives and Joan Fuster.
Being fond of music since he was very young, Joan Fuster mentioned in his works, specially in his press articles, several composers, music works and music trends of the different times.
Furthermore, today, March the 1st at 12:00, the XI Premios de la Crítica del Institut Interuniversitari de Filologia Valenciana (Interuniversity Institute of Valencian Philology) are going to be awarded in La Nau’s main hall. A lecture by Jaume Cabré titled ‘La creació del món’ (the creation of the world) is going to take place in the same event as well.
