Conference about the wrong distribution of shares to the banking market, organised by the Department of Mercantile Law and APABANC Consumers Association

On Wenesday 24 June it was carried out in the College of Notaries of Valencia a Conference organised by the Department of Mercantile Law Manuel Broseta Pont, in the framework of the R&D Project “La regulación del Shadow Banking y la protección del cliente bancario”, DER2013-48707-R (“The regulation of the Shadow Banking and the protection of the blanking client”), and for the APABANC Consumers Association.

The conference, directed by the professor Rafael Marimón Durá (PI of the project), dealt with the problems caused by the public offer of the subscription of shares, and focused specifically in the judicial treatment of the Bankia OPS of 2011, that has been so significant in the legal and social fields. Throughout the different lectures, the ways of claims that affected consumers on these assumptions of irregular distribution of investment products were analysed, from the penal, commercial, procedural and administrative aspects.
 
Hosted by the professor Vicente Cuñat Edo and by the president of APABANC, Ricard Torres, the Conference included the participation of the professors of the Faculty of Law, José Luis González Cussac, Rafael Marimón, José Martín Pastor, Beatriz Belando Garín and Manuel Ortells Ramos, and for the magistrate of the Valencia Provincial Court, Gonzalo Caruana Font de Mora. The professor Jesús Olavarría was responsible for closing the act, as the director of the Department of Mercantile Law.
