E-Book ‘Montblanc, educational resources on the European Union’, written by José Díaz Lafuente and edited by Faximil Digital Editions, with the support of the European Documentation Centre of the University of Valencia General Foundation, is also available in Catalan for iPad and Mac. The downloading of ‘Montblanc’ (version 1.0) is totally free.
‘Montblanc, educational resources on the European Union' is an e-book to help teachers and students to know the functioning of comuntarian institutions and policies resulting from their activities. Its primary purpose is to serve as the textbook for the subject of the European Union established in the curriculum of Secondary Education of the Valencian Country.
Consisting of 32 subjects organised into seven thematic sections for a total of 296 pages, through which are studied the principles and values of the European Union, History of Europe, EU Law, EU policies and study and employment opportunities for young people. At the completion of the book have been used 36 multilingual videos, 22 multimedia items and nearly hundred photographs to achieve an optimal balance between text and visual resources in terms of learning. There have benn also included 26 texts selected to reflect, 26 exercises to comment and 44 autoevaluador questions that allow the reader to control what is learned in the subject matter. Besides, it has also added a fine selection of bibliographic or electronic resources as a selected bibliography on each of the thematic sections.
‘Montblanc' tries to be both a teaching tool about the European Union and serve as a reference manual for those outside the world of education and interested in the integration process of the European Union. The publication has a daily service advice on its use and contents, managed by the European Documentation Centre of the University of Valencia General Foundation.
The updating of ‘Montblanc’ is annual and automatic in February for those users who have it installed on their devices. All versions of the publication are free.
The book can be download with e-Books for Mac or iOS device and with iTunes for computer. The editors recommend to use iPad to read books with interactive content so to enjoy all its features.
