Students of the University of Valencia have an idea and turn it into radio. This course, MediaUni opens the doors to new students, new programmes and new content. The result: a total of eight spaces to be released this season and make the university radio programming in a cocktail of proposals and a reflection of the diversity of this institution.
Some come in groups, some individually, but each program is a sample of the tastes, interests, concerns and hobbies of the dozens of students who spend a few minutes each week to enrich the guide of the University of Valencia Radio in MediaUni platform (http://mediauni.uv.es/radio).
Titles like TradiSons; ‘Nota al Margen’(Note the Margin); ‘El Retrato Oval’ (The Oval Portrait) o ‘Lo que hay que oír’ (What you need to hear), have begun to listen in recent weeks. Behind the microphones of each of these spaces only there is a group of students of Journalism or Communication to comment on the news and talk about local music, traditions and culture.
But not all programmes are produced and designed by students with this profile. 'Filmfílics' is the case of a group of students from ETSE (School of Engineering) who once a month talk about two of their great passions, films and television.
Also new is 'Cròniques the la Història' (History Chronicles). It is often said that the past is essential to understanding the whys of the present, and to that end a student at the University of Valencia weekly analyses historical moments as the 9 October, or bring closer the origins of well-known issues as the Rock & Roll music.
A new ingredient added this year is music, specifically jazz. Fauna Jazz is dedicated to this musical variety and its players, from its origins to the immediate present.
And among such variety could not miss in this radio cocktail an erotic programme: 'Luxúria' (Lust) is the space for breaking taboos and talk about sex from a literary or musical aspect, in order to learn new things and share experiences.
In addition, this year programs already started last season continue. Three journalism students break the formalisms to draw in the listeners one smile each week with 'The soterrani' (The basement), since what they claim, it is important to laugh at these hard times. 'Cine l' Atalante', a project linked with Film classroom, also repeats this season and each week continues to bring cinema to the University and all the news from the big screen.
Normally all are young students, but some of the contributors to this university radio have a different profile. This is the case of ‘Amics de la Nau Gran’ (Friends of Nau Gran) where those older students star in debates and discussed the current issues for about 60 minutes.
Also this year, Radio Universidad has the voice of experience of Enric Marco and Fernando Ballesteros, two researchers of astronomy at the University of Valencia. Through the programme ‘Ecos del Cosmos’ (Echoes of the Cosmos) they attempt to reveal all the mysteries of heaven. An example of disclosure where they analyse the realism of the film 'Gravity' or fraud selling plots on the moon or the names of the stars, among other issues.
New programs are added daily to the news that emits Radio Universidad and in the sports, cultural, technological, literary, cooperation, health, or environmental programming or recreational ideas among others, that produces MediaUni usual team for two years with the help of students and interns of degrees in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication.

A fresh proposal, and for all tastes, which can be heard at anytime and anywhere .
