The full university professor of the University of Valencia Carlos Simón will also be an assistant professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Stanford University in California, one of the three largest in the world for its scientific relevance, along with Harvard and Princeton. Simón is also director of the Valencia Infertility Institute (IVI).

The selection committee from Stanford chooses outstanding people in their professions from around the world to be part of its academic community for a period of six years, which can be renewed once evaluated the work done in that time.

Carlos Simon has highlighted the benefits of this new position at the time being eligible for U.S. government funding for research projects and to establish ways of collaboration to improve their current research projects in Valencia (creating artificial gametes, ovarian and rejuvenation endometrial receptivity).

Simon thanked the principal's team of the University of Valencia for their support and permission to reconcile this double linkage to Valencia and California campus.

"Being a professor at Stanford University represents one of the greatest achievements of my life, because it's now exactly twenty-two years I was told that I was accepted as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford and twenty-two years later I was appointed professor at the institution where I was formed "said Carlos Simon.
