The Universitat de València’s professor, José A. de Azcárraga, forms part of the independent committee of experts, appointed by the Council of Ministers, in charge of analyzing the Spanish university system and submitting proposals to improve it. Azcárraga is a full professor of theoretical physics at Universitat de València since 1978.

Beyond his teaching and scientific career (he has been main researcher in several research projects since 1978), José A. de Azcárraga has been developing a great promotion of science and research activities at different contexts.

During the last senate elections at Facultat de Física, he was the most voted lecturer. He has written about science and society, and about university matters.
