This book was awarded recently with the Premi Baldri Reixac 2015 in the study, search and pedagogical essay area, awarded by the Lluís Carulla Foundation of Barcelona.

Through the 465 pages, this volume aims to recover the memory, the history of those teachers of the 30s who committed with passion to change the school, to renew the atmosphere od the class, to break the secular isolation of rural schools.

The work starts with a tour around the pedegogical trajectory of Célestin Freinet, the creator and promoter, together with Élise, of the printing movement in the school; the birth of the C. E. L. (Coopérative de l'Enseignement Laïc) and the organisation of the Modern School movement, the actual FIMEM (International Federation of Modern School Movements), that gathers a great number of educators from more than forty  countries.  It is framed into the context of Republican School where was born and developed the Valencian, state and Freinet movement, during its first stage 1931-1939.

The central body of the research is the inventory, cataloguing and analysis of the forty-one Valencian Freinet publications. In the study of each journal, of their content, of the topics, their characteristics and peculiarities, and the relationship of the journals they were in contact with.
