La Universitat, the CREC-Valencia Provincial Council and the Municipal Council of Enguera present the book "Paisajes y patrimonio cultural"

La Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, the Municipal Council of Enguera and CREC-Valencia Provincial Council, in collaboration with Ietec (National Institute for Territorial Studies El Caroig), have presented on 19 December the book "Paisajes y patrimonio cultural". The publication includes the lectures delivered in November during the first edition of "Universitat de la Tardor" de Enguera, an exposition that reviews the past, present and future of the locality of La Canal de Navarrés.

The Cultural Centre of Enguera held last 19 December the presentation of the work Paisajes y patrimonio cultural, a publication edited by la Universitat de València, the Municipal Council of Enguera and the CREC- Valencia Provincial Council. The local Major, Santiago Arévalo, wanted to show his support to the initiatives that the University of Valencia is carrying out through the collaboration of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation with the Valencian towns and pointed out that "The sessions 'Universitat de la Tardor: paisajes y patrimonio cultural' organized by the university in Enguera and that have resulted the book presented today, are an example of the great work that the university is carrying out within the Valencian territory. From the Municipal Council of Enguera we want to thank them and offer our support since we know that there are more activities scheduled for 2013".

 Pep Aparicio, coordinator of the Resources and Continuing Education Centre of the Valencia Provincial Council, emphasized that "both the book we present today and the previous sessions, are the evidence of the success of the group work between local specialists and university professors". Moreover, Aparicio expressed his satisfaction for the quality of the texts, and pointed that the publication in now another step into the culture of Enguera, which has been possible thanks to the work of three institutions (Municipal Council of Enguera, Valencia Provincial Council and la Universitat de València).

The Vice-Principal for Territory Projection and Participation, Jorge Hermosilla, pointed out that "'La Universitat de la Tardor' de Enguera, in other words, the sessions that have led to this book, is part of the Office of the Vice-Principal programme, which intends to bring the academy to local residents and to project the university within the territory though the knowledge transfer to local entities". Moreover, he stated that "the work we have developed together with the Municipal Council of Enguera and the Provincial Council has been a great success. The activities carried out in Enguera were very well received by local residents. Consequently, from the Office of the Vice-Principal we are already preparing la Universitat de la Tardor de Enguera for next year 2013".

Lectures of Paisajes y patrimonio cultural

Paisajes y patrimonio cultural constitutes a multidisciplinary work in which university professors, municipal technicians and local experts have participated. The publication includes the observations of specialists on Enguera's fauna and flora, its history, cultural richness, its archaeological, landscape and linguistic heritage, as well as the possible future scenarios for local residents of Enguera.

 The book consists of 8 texts:

 1. The first, written by Pep Aparicio, coordinator of CREC-Diputació de València, entitled “Adobar els paisatges i els patrimonis culturals: aprendre en transformació”.

2. The second author is Juan José Castellano, Municipal Archeologist of the Municipal Council of Enguera, who writes about “La definición del extremo noroeste de la Contestania. Arqueología del territorio en el entorno del macizo del Caroig”.

3. Thirdly, it includes “Geografía de los paisajes del interior valenciano”, by Emilio Iranzo, professor of the Department of Geography at UV.

4. Vicente Manuel Sanz (Official chronicler of Enguera and secondary professor) and Miguel Jesús Castillo (secondary professor) write about “La Constitución de 1812 en Enguera”.

5. The following text is “Apuntes sobre el impacto local de la nueva historia local”, by the professor of the University of Valencia Nuria Tabanera.

6. Mariola Aparicio, professor of the UVEG, writes about “El teatro popular y costumbrista de Enguera: una aproximación”.

7. The professors Vicent F. Garcia (University CEU Cardenal Herrera and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya) and Emili Casanova (University of Valencia and Valencian Language Academy), publish a text about “La parla enguerina y la Canal de Navarrés en l’ALPI”.

8. As a political scientist Marina Aparicio (IGOP-Univ. Autònoma de Barcelona), in her text, she offers a review of “La sociedad enguerina: pasado y presente”.

9. Finally, Rafael Castelló, professor of the Department of Social Sociology and Anthropology of the University of Valencia writes about “La situación social al País Valencià”.

The publication of this book is part of the collaboration project between la Universitat de València and the Municipal Council of Enguera, which intends to visualize the potential of the teaching and research community, to offer training and delectation with these activities and focus on the possibilities of local development through the knowledge of its potential.
