Lectures on ‘Cultura e integración social’ today, Friday 28

‘Cultura e integración social’ (culture and social integration) are a series of lectures which are going to be held from today, Friday 28, to December 5. Some of the topics to be discussed are: public uses of past, the political situation and journalistic sense of humour, austerity and sustainability, art and urban environment, and bio-cleaning applied to catering. The lectures are organized by Universitat de València thanks to its micro-cluster ‘Cultura y Sociedad en la Era Digital’.

Other topics are acoustics and virtual reality in the hereditary contexts and the restoration experience of Sistine Chapel.

This micro-cluster, coordinated by the full professor of Spanish literature Joan Oleza, is a multidisciplinar platform that includes humanities and social sciences, but also aspects of applied physics and information technology. Experts of Universitat de València, Universitat Politècnica de València and CSIC make up the initiative.

The lecture series start today, Friday 28, with the lecture by Gianluigi Colalucci, who will be introduced by Pilar Roig, full professor at UPV. Colalucci is honoris causa doctor and was in charge of the restauration of Sistine Chapel. This lecture will be held in the Fine Arts school’s hall Alfons Roig.

The lecture by Joan Oleza El cuerpo y los mirones. Un episodio de la subjetividad vanguardista will be the closing one, next December 5.

This lectures are given by experts and researchers like Pedro Ruiz Torres, Josep Lluís Gómez, Ernest Garcia, Joan Bautista Peiró, Juan Canales, Constancio Collado, Pilar Bosch, Alicia Jiménez, Álvar Martínez, Consuelo Císcar, and Antonio Bravo.

The Fine Arts school at the Universitat Politècnica de València, the IVAM, the Museo de Sant Pius V, López Piñeiro Institute, Facultat de Filologia, Traducció i Comunicació and the Auditorio del Cubo Azul at the Ciudad Politécnica de la Innovación are the different places for the lectures.

Entrance is free but space is limited. Attendants will be given a 20 hours attendance certificate.
