The Universitat’s Servei de Prevenció i Medi Ambient carried on yesterday, Thursday the 15th , a part emergency fire drill at the facilities of the Facultat de Medicina i Odontologia. This practice is included in the Plan de Autoprotecció de la Facultat, and has the collaboration of the Oficina de Atención Ciudadana of the town council’s Protección Civil (Civil Defense) and the emergency team members of the Universitat.
The fire drill was scheduled at 11:00. The fire was going to be simulated through the artificial creation of nontoxic smoke on the second floor of the faculty. This simulation was only affecting the Office of the Dean, the secreatary, the Unitat Central d’Investigació (Central Unit for Medical Research) and the Departament d’Història de la Ciencia i Documentació (Department of Science History and Documentation).
Once the fire was dectected, the emergency team evacuated the departments and spaces already mentioned.
