The Hall of Residence Principal Peset hosted on Wednesday the presentation of the book "El Persa: for friends only', edited by Media Cow. The book brings together articles, interviews and photographs that tell from his friends' perspective the life of El Persa in a very careful edition of the collection 'Big and Small'. The event was attended by editors and Begoña Lobo and Vicente Ferrer.
José Cardona, El Persa (Valencia, 1943), is one of the most known and unknown cultivators which in classical Greek is called 'ephemera', i.e. the vast universe papelífero destined not to last beyond a day where mixed cutouts, postcards, coloring sheets, stickers, posters, flyers, greeting cards and so on. This ephemeral press is a treat for collectors but it generally represents something very different to their almost always anonymous creators. Very few have made of the humble piece of paper their ideal medium, like the Persian, who titled an exhibition of his cutouts 'The dignity of the weak'.
From his imagination emerged the most lucid and increasingly delusional ideas, as evidenced by his research on the 'Pelota Postal Descascarillable', his invention of the 'Chewing Mask Bowerbräu' or his entertaining disquisitions on the nature of time, 'la joie de vivre' and motorcycles.
The presentation of this book takes place in the framework of the last exhibition on the artist, also titled 'El Persa: for friends only', which can be visited until 20 May at Principal Peset.
