The Chair for Scientific Dissemination UCC of the University of Valencia announces the II Awards Opinió Innovadora, in collaboration with the journal Las Provincias, within the framework of the Jornades d’Investigació 2012/2013, which will be held between 13 to 15 February at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. And supported by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. The objective of this announcement is to promote the communication skills of researchers, as well as their implication in transferring knowledge to society through print media.
Moreover, aims to encourage the closeness of media with the scientific community and to promote scientific culture in Valencian society.
This II Awards Opinió Innovadora consist of two categories; a) social and education sciences and humanities and b) basic sciences, health sciences, engineering and architecture. In addition to the thematic, the articles should be connected with present time issues. Should be no longer than 700 words and can be written in Valencian or Castilian. The award for each category is 200 Euros and its publication in the journal Las Provincias.
According to the rules of the contest, it can be submitted a single article by predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers linked with research projects from all the Spanish state, both in Public Research Organizations (OPI) and in public and private universities.
The articles that opt for these awards must be sent by email to the following address: cdciencia@uv.es, along with the personal information of the author (name, ID, address, phone, email) and specify the category in which participates. Finally, the deadline for submitting the works ends 12 February of 2013 at 15:00. The jury of experts from the University of Valencia and the journal Las Provincias will announce the results of the II Awards Opinió Innovadora the 15 February at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, before the closing of the Jornades d’Investigació 2012/2013.
