The Erasmus Programme is the new programme of the European Union in education, culture and sport. It contains several actions, among which we should highlight students’ mobility. This Mobility Programme allow students enrolled in Master’s Degree studies of the Universitat de Valencia to carry out a period of studies in another European Higher Education Institution. Likewise, the Master’s Degree students from other participating European universities can carry out a period of studies at the Universitat de Valencia.
These stays are based on an interinstitutional agreement of Erasmus mobility signed by the Universitat de València with other European Higher Education Institution. The interinstitutional agreement gathers the mobility characteristics (master’s degrees, area of studies, duration, number of stays, linguistic requirements, etc.).
The master's degree in Advanced Optometry and Vision Sciences allows the students mobility through the Mobility Programmes ERASMUS and the International Programme. Currently there is an agreement with the following European Universities: Karolinska Institute (Suecia), University of Latvia (Letonia), Haute Ecole Libre de Bruxelles (Bélgica), University of Milan (Italia), University of Palermo (Italia), University of Minho (Portugal), University da Beira Interior (Portugal).
At an international level there are agreements with: Universidad Antonio Nariño of Colombia, Universidad Metropolitana of Barranquilla, Colombia, Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes of México. Currently we are interested in establishing an agreement with the University of Sydney (Australia), and we have already contacted through the Doctoral Programme, since a UV doctoral student did his stay there. The objectives of the master's degree are compatible with Optometry at an European and International level. The interest of the UV students is usually focused in doing External Internships (6 ECTS) in other countries, mostly in the EU, but sometimes out of Europe. Through the International Programmes and the ERASMUS, UV students can continue to learn in external centres such as private clinics and institutional centres of other foreign Universities.
Mobility can be in both directions, since students of the European Union and International students can also study in the UV given these mobility opportunities.
Several Master’s Degrees of the Universitat de Valencia have signed interinstitutional agreements that allow students to carry out Erasmus stays. You can check the offer of Erasmus destinations of each Master’s Degree in the Students Services Portal www.uv.es/portalumne within the option “Exchange Programmes with other universities” - >”Check the Exchange Programmes”
