The three following criteria will be considered as basic specific evaluation criteria of the Master's Degree:

1. Disciplines: the multidisciplinar nature of local development makes this Master's Degree open to most of the social sciencies and humanities disciplines, as well as legal sciences and other related disciplines. Nevertheless those students coming from social sciences, humanities, legal sciences, environmental sciences and biological sciences will have preference, as these are closer to the profile of a professional in local development. Therefore, for these disciplines no provision is made for complementary training credits.

2. Academic record: The academic record of the completed studies up to now. This criteria will be fundamental when dealing with students without professional experience. A weighting system will be established in order to make comparable the marks obtained when refering to a "licenciatura" and when refering to a "diplomatura". Without distinguishing "diplomados", however a greater effort will be recognised to "licenciados" regarding to "diplomados".

3. Working professionals: A special assessment will be given to those candidates that fit the profile of "professionals" and that, therefore, also contribute with their previous experience to students. In such cases, being a working professional in some of these programmes, policies or organisations binded to local development would be a criteria at least so important as the academic record, attending to the social usefulness of the rtaining that will receive these professionals.

Lastly, candidates will explain in a document designed to this effect the reasons by which he/she must take the current Master's Degree.
