The UV research groups (GIUV) are regulated in the 1st chapter of the Regulation ACGUV48/2013, which explains the procedure for creating new research structures. They are basic research and organizational structures that result from the voluntary association of researchers that share objectives, facilities, resources and common lines of research. These researchers are also committed to the consolidation and stability of their activity, work in groups and the capability to achieve a sustainable funding.

The research groups included in the previously mentioned Regulation are registered in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València (REIUV), managed by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research. The basic information of these organisms can be found in this website.

Data related to research groups featured in various information dissemination channels shall not, under any circumstances, imply a statement or commitment regarding the employment or academic affiliation of individuals associated with the Universitat de València. Their inclusion is solely the responsibility of the group directors. Updates will be made upon request from interested parties.

Research Group in Biomarkers in Reproduction, Gynaecology and Obstetrics - GIBROG

Reference of the Group:

GIUV2021-523

Description of research activity:
The research group is made up of a multidisciplinary team made up of gynecologists, gynecological oncologists, obstetricians, anatomopathologists, biologists, biochemists and chemists who are dedicated to translational research in women's health, including obstetrics, reproduction and benign and oncological gynecological pathologies, with special interest in the search for diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers. The line of research presented here includes the following main research focal points: I) Molecular markers: a) In gynecology and gynecology oncology, in relation to endometriosis, ovarian cancer, ovarian cancer associated with endometriosis, focused mainly on early diagnosis, and the search for prognostic and predictive factors of response to treatment through different omics approaches. b) In reproduction, focused mainly on improving the rate of embryo implantation and the preservation of fertility in oncological patients. c) In obstetric pathologies, with special interest in the prevention of serious pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia and eclampsia. II) Epithelial-mesenchymal transition and immunoregulation: Study of possible interrelationships between the mesenchymal-epithelial transition and the presence of immunoregulatory cell populations (Tregs, myelosuppression cells, dendritic cells) and tumor recurrence or progression, with special interest in endometrial cancer, high-grade serous ovarian cancer and ovarian cancer associated with endometriosis.
