The UV research groups (GIUV) are regulated in the 1st chapter of the Regulation ACGUV48/2013, which explains the procedure for creating new research structures. They are basic research and organizational structures that result from the voluntary association of researchers that share objectives, facilities, resources and common lines of research. These researchers are also committed to the consolidation and stability of their activity, work in groups and the capability to achieve a sustainable funding.

The research groups included in the previously mentioned Regulation are registered in the Register of Research Structures of the Universitat de València (REIUV), managed by the Office of the Vice-principal for Research and Scientific Policies. The basic information of these organisms can be found in this website.

Applied Surgical Anatomy Research Group - GIAQA

Reference of the Group:

GIUV2023-583

Description of research activity:

We investigate human anatomy that has repercussions in different surgical specialties: surgical approaches, topographical anatomy and anatomical variations.

Web:

Scientific-technical goals:
  • To advance the anatomical knowledge of the approaches relevant to the surgical development of different surgical specialties.
  • To advance in the relevant anatomical topographic knowledge from a surgical point of view in different surgical specialties.
  • To advance the knowledge of possible anatomical variations relevant to the surgical development of different surgical specialties.

Research lines:
  • Surgical anatomy applied to general and digestive surgery. It includes the following Research Units: -Colorectal Surgery Unit: Research in surgical anatomy applied to colorectal surgery, both open and laparoscopic. The Applied Surgical Anatomy Research Group (GIAQA) collaborates in training activities developed through the ASA3D Academy platform, aimed at teaching applied surgical anatomy and advanced colorectal surgery. -Hepatobiliopancreatic Surgery Unit: Research in surgical anatomy applied to hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic surgery. -Abdominal Wall Surgery Unit: Research in surgical anatomy applied to abdominal wall surgery. -Breast Surgery Unit: Research in surgical anatomy applied to breast surgery.
