Conference in the cultural centre of Almussafes

In an already classic work, published in 1968, Joseph E. Stigler considered that industrial organisation was merely the result of applying the microeconomic theory to the analysis of companies operation, markets and industries. But nowadays, this microeconomic view is being far outweighed. The markets competition is beyond prices competition. Frequently, the variable of innovation (of product, process and design) is much more decisive than the simple price dynamics when analysing market changes.

The analysis of industrial economy, therefore, should be not limited to the purely economic aspects, but it should consider social phenomena in a broader sense, and, for this, the need to interweave the industrial analysis process with educational and training aspects.

The University of Valencia, through the Office of the Vice-principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, the Regional Government of Valencia and the City Council of Almussafes, organise this First Conference in “Educación y formación en economía industrial valenciana” (Education and Training in Valencian industrial economy), with the objective of constructing a scenario of reflection on the interrelationship between the Valencian industry sector, and the society of which it is part.

The conferences are addressed to the trainers of Adults’ Schools, teaching staff, researchers, students, organisations and the general public.

Certificate of attendance will be provided.
