The evolution of the Spanish society in the last decades has resulted in diversity constituting nowadays one of the characteristic features of our social environment and an added value Nevertheless, despite the democratic maturity and the solidarity of the Spanish society, there still are discriminating and behaviours that present hate as a motivator against people belonging to certain collective or minorities.
The collaboration of the Spanish Law Enforcement with the groups of civil society and with non-governmental organisations that represent these collectives and the victims of “hate crimes” acquires a particular relevance to fight against them, to their prevention and the assistance and support to the victims and witnesses, which improves confidence among the victims and the members of these institutions, in charge of protecting them and of safeguarding their rights.
