Agenda UV

11-13 February, the Espai Vives hosts the local phase of the University Debate League of the Xarxa Vives, a dialectic competition between university teams which is celebrated locally at the Universitat de València before the final phase between universities from the Xarxa Vives. Like so, the student teams of the Universitat will debate, during those three days, about the topic of the League which this year is: Is linguistic diversity in danger?

The eliminatory phases of the internal Debate League 2024/2025 of the UV will take place 11 and 12 February and the final and semi-finals the 13. Each session will start at 4:00pm.

Each member of the winning team on the local phase will receive €200 as a price, as well as the best speaker of the competition. In addition, The UV will choose from the participants the team which will represent it at the university Debate League 2025, which will take place in Vigo, at the Central University of Catalonia.

The aim of the competition is to encourage speech and promote skills such as argumentation, public speaking, information research, collaborative work and staging. It also aims to foster relationships with students from other universities of the Xarxa Vives of University. The Debate League is organised by the Xarxa Vives of universities, and the local phase of the UV is being coordinated by the Information and Promotion Service for Students (Sedi).
