Joan Brossa Exhibition

At the same time, from 19 November on the occasion of the congress, in Faculty of Teaching Training hall will be an exhibition dedicated to the poetry of Joan Brossa.

The Joan Brossa Foundation and the Faculty of Teaching Training, with the collaboration of the Writing and Reading Aula of Universitat de València mount the exhibition ‘Arbust Brossa. Reading and looking at Joan Brossa’, that can be visited until 17 December.

This showing is formed by posters and written poems of the poet that are gathered in pairs to establish a dialog. At the same time, the exhibition articulates in several thematic blocks that allow the understanding of the particular vision the poet had about life and poetic creation.

Joan Brossa was one of the poetic models of the second Catalan avant-garde. With the objective of converting poetry in a tool at the service of communication, he reached to dilute the borders between the arts and expand the limits of poetic creation. In this desire of getting to the entire world, the poet decided to abandon the books and to go into the streets. Visual poems that take the shape of a poster or physical poems that occupy the urban space are the most evident examples.
