The Confucius Institute of the Universitat de València has received the title of ‘Modelic Confucius Institute’, an award given to only 15 Confucius Institutes around the world in more than 450 institutions. Hanban, the Central Office of Confucius Institutes in China, has given the award in the 10 World Congress of Confucius Institutes in Shanghai.
The prize was collected by professor Francisco Tomás Vert, former principal of the Universitat de València and honorary member of the International Council of Hanban.

The title ‘Model Confucius Institute’ is the highest recognition to the trajectory of Confucius Institutes which have already received other prizes. In the case of the Universitat de València, in 2008 and 2009 it was elected one of the top 20 worldwide and in 2011 and 2012 one of the top 30 management teams. With the 8 anniversary, a lucky number in Chinese culture, just celebrated with several cultural activities, exhibitions and academic conferences, the trajectory and the dissemination work of Chinese culture of the Confucius Institute of Universitat de València are recognised with this emblem. The acts it organises always count with a lot of public and it has many followers in social networks. We have in active different social networks that informed you on all the activities, events and a lot of appearances so much of the Institute Confucio as of the Chinese culture in general. It gives classes and prepares activities in its two headquarters: in the Faculty of Language Studies, Translation and Communication, in Blasco Ibáñez Campus; and in Beatriz Civera Building, in Serpis St., in Tarongers Campus, where there is a newly open library with one of the biggest collection of books and audiovisual material about China.
The Confucius Institute of the Universitat de València is the only centre of the Valencian Country that runs official exams of Chinese: HSK for adult and YCT for young people, and the HSKK oral exams. It also organises, with great success, a summer camp to study in China and gives study grants for medium or long-term periods.
The Confucius Institute of the Universitat de València edits and publishes the Instituto Confucio magazine, in its bilingual edition Chinese-Spanish for Spanish speakers, which is the only guide of Chinese culture in this format. Furthermore, it publishes in electronica format all the bilingual magazines in 11 languages in the ‘Confucius Institute Magazine’ app. as well as a web page where the magazines can be consulted and downloaded. It also has a blog, in which the most remarkable articles of the magazine can be received.
