Ana R. Calero Valera is Full Professor of German Philology at the University of Valencia. She presented her doctoral thesis "Las obras de Heiner Müller en torno a Shakespeare: reescritura paródica" in 2001, and she obtained the extraordinary doctorate award in 2004. Since 2005, she has been a member of several research projects on contemporary and postdramatic theater in German language. Since 2017, she is a member of the research team REPERCRI: https://repercrirg.com/es/equipo-de-investigacion/ana-rosa-calero-valera/. She undertook research visits to German and American universities (Johannes Gutenberg Universität-Mainz, Humboldt Universität-Berlin, Albert Ludwigs Universität-Freiburg, University of Virginia-Charlottesville). Along with Carmen Plaza Blázquez she has co-authored translations into Spanish, such as Una herencia peligrosa (Gefährliche Verwandtschaft) by Zafer Şenocak (Editorial Pre-Textos, 2009). Her research interests lie in literature in German language of the 20th and 21st centuries, with a specialisation in: The First World War and the interwar period, the literature of (post-)migration and refugees, studies on post-memory and contemporary theater. Ingrid García Wistädt holds a degree in German Philology (1999) and English Philology (1998), a diploma in Social Work (1993) and a PhD in Philology (2005) from the Universitat de València. Currently, she is Associate Professor of German Philology, attached to the Department of English and German Philology at the UV. She has participated in numerous research projects and is a member of the permanent research group RIALE (https://www.uv.es/riale) of the UV (GIUV2013-078), whose main activity is to lay the foundations for a comprehensive investigation of intercultural relations between Spain and German-speaking countries from the Middle Ages to the present day. His main fields of research at present, in addition to those related to the subject of his doctoral thesis (From the Minnesänger to the Romantic artist. Ludwig Tieck's romanticism through the figure of the musician and his literary configuration), are precisely in the field of intercultural relations between Germany and Spain, especially the literature of German travellers in Spain in the 19th century. In the field of teaching, he teaches German literature from its beginnings up to the 19th century. She has also been involved in many management tasks, as well as being a member of the University Senate and the Faculty Board and participating in various academic committees. Between 2006-2018 she was Secretary of the Department of English and German Philology and since 2019 she is Director of the Master's Degree in Research in Languages and Literatures. |

Ana Giménez Calpe holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication (2004) and German Philology (2011) and a PhD in Languages and Literatures (2014) from the Universitat de València. At the same university she has been a lecturer in German literature since 2016 in the Department of English and German Philology. She has previously worked at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, in the United States, and at the University of Granada. Her research interests focus on the dramatic work of Elfriede Jelinek, intercultural literature, gender studies and the analysis of violence and power relations in literature. She has published several articles and book chapters, as well as the monograph Von Prinzessinnen zu Königinnen. Performative (Ohn)macht in ‘Der Tod und das Mädchen III (Rosamunde)’ and ‘Ulrike Maria Stuart’ by Elfriede Jelinek (Peter Lang, 2019). She is currently a member of the research group “Nuevos paradigmas en la representación cultural de los espacios de violencia de masas: mirar y contar el siglo XX desde el XXI" (PID2022-140003NB-I00), as well as of the teaching innovation group INNOVA-TEA. Isabel Gutiérrez Koester studied German and English Philology at the University of Valencia, where she completed her PhD in 2000 with a dissertation on female water myths in German literature. She received the University’s Extraordinary Degree Award as well as its Extraordinary Doctorate Award. Since 2002, she has been Associate Professor of German Philology at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication of the University of Valencia and is accredited for promotion to Full Professor. Her teaching focuses on twentieth-century German literature, literature and audiovisual media, and research training. Her research interests include contemporary German literature, travel writing, German-Spanish intercultural relations, imagology and gender studies. For more than two decades, she has been continuously involved in funded research projects and has served as principal investigator on several of them. A substantial part of her work has examined German-speaking travellers in Spain, cultural images and stereotypes, and the literary representation of Spanish spaces. More recently, her research has focused particularly on women’s travel writing and on the representations of Spain in travel accounts by German-speaking women. Within this field, she led the project “The Image of Spain and Latin America in German-Language Travel Literature” (UV-INV_AE-2635613), funded by the University of Valencia Research Service, and subsequently “Imagological Constructions of Spain in German-Language Women’s Travel Writing: A Gender-Based Systematisation” (CIAICO2022/105), for which she was principal investigator. She is Director of RIALE – Intercultural Relations Germany-Spain (GIUV2013-078), a permanent research group devoted to cultural transfer, travel writing and intercultural representation. Her work has resulted in numerous scholarly publications, including journal articles, book chapters, edited volumes and monographs, and has been presented at national and international conferences. She has also developed sustained collaborations with European universities and research centres, with increasing emphasis on open science, knowledge transfer, and interdisciplinary and digital approaches in the humanities. Since 2013, she has coordinated the international mobility programmes of the BA in Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Valencia. In this role, she has promoted new partnerships with European universities, staff and teaching exchanges, and initiatives within the FORTHEM European University Alliance, contributing to the development of international academic networks and collaborative teaching environments. |

Brigitte Jirku, PhD in German Philology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA (1990). She has studied German and French philology and has taught at several universities, especially in the United States. She currently works as a Professor of German Literature in the “Departament of English and German Philology”. In the last twenty years she has carried out numerous research stays in German and Austrian universities and is a senior collaborator with the "Elfriede Jelinek Forschungszentrum" (Universität Wien). Her recent research has focused on the study of gender discourses in relation to discourses of power and violence in German-language literature. In addition, her work on literary spaces exploring memories of collective and individual violence has led her to analyze the victim-perpetrator paradigm and its redefinition in contemporary German-language literary texts. She has been principal investigator of R&D research projects on the study and reception of German-language postdramatic theater (2006-2011) and is currently a member of the research project on contemporary representations of perpetrators of mass crimes (www.repercrirg.com). Author and co-editor of several publications on autobiographical discourses and the representation of women and womanhood in the 18th-21st centuries, gender studies in German-language literature and on the representation of violence in literature and media. Juanjo Monsell Corts is an assistant professor in the Department of English and German Philology at the University of Valencia. During his doctoral studies, he was a beneficiary of one of the predoctoral research staff recruitment grants offered by the Generalitat Valenciana and carried out research stays at the Universität Wien (Austria), the Universität Hildesheim (Germany), the Universiteit Utrecht (Netherlands), and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany). He completed a Bachelor's degree in Modern Languages and their Literatures (German and French) and a Master's degree in Research in Languages and Literatures at the University of Valencia. He has also taken courses in the Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Studies. He has translated various literary works and written dramatic works. His research focuses on German postdramatic theater and the mechanisms it employs to represent different types of violence. In his doctoral thesis, he conducts an analysis, within the framework of memory studies, of various 20th-century literary works that connect colonialism and National Socialism. |
