Maricel Esteban-Fonollosa holds a PhD in Languages, Literatures, Cultures, and their Applications from the University of Valencia. She is a graduate in German Philology from the University of Valencia, and she also holds a degree in Information Sciences from C.E.U. San Pablo, an institution affiliated with the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Additionally, she completed her studies in Hispanic Studies at the Universitat de València. Since 2022, she has been a Ayudante Doctor professor in the Department of English and German Philology at the Universitat de València. In 2024, she received accreditation as a Contractado Doctor by ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain). Her research focuses on contrastive linguistics, discourse analysis, and applied linguistics, particularly in the field of German as a foreign language. She is a member of the FRASESPAL Research Group – Spanish-German Phraseology (https://frasespal.com/) and is currently involved in the Ministry of Science and Innovation Project PID2019-108783RB-I00 on Gramática de Construcciones y Fraseología. Julia Fackler holds a degree in Economics from the Universität Bayreuth, Germany, and a Master's degree in German as a Foreign Language from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany. Since 2023, she has been a Lecturer for the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in the Department of English and German Philology at the Universitat de València. In this role, she not only teaches, but also offers consultancies for studies and research in Germany, organises cultural events, promotes the creation and strengthening of networks in Spain and beyond, manages a small DAAD library, disseminates German language learning at the UV and in Valencia through social media, and coordinates projects such as EmS Valencia - a cultural exchange between Erasmus students and schools in Valencia. Julia Fackler offers a comprehensive and accessible DAAD programme for anyone interested. The aim of her work as a DAAD lecturer is to promote the German language and intercultural exchange. |

Hang Ferrer-Mora has held a degree since 1991 and a PhD since 1998 in Anglo-Germanic Philology from the Faculty of Philology, Translation, and Communication at the University of Valencia, with English and German as his primary languages. He also graduated in Translation from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (Germany) in 1995, at the Fachbereich Angewandte Sprach- und Kulturwissenschaft in Germersheim. He completed a research stay with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and obtained a postgraduate specialty (in German, Aufbaustudium) in Methodology and Didactics of German as a Foreign Language at the Faculty of Humanities of the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (Germany) in 1996. In 2022, he earned the title of Doctor of Philosophy from UNED. Passionate about world languages, he has studied several, including German (Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom from the Goethe Institute, 1991; Official School of Languages of Valencia, 1994); English (Certificate of Proficiency from the ICC - International Certificate Conference, German People's University, 1986; Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Valencia, 1987); Valencian (Certificate "Superior" from the Qualification Board, Ministry of Education and Science of the Generalitat of Valencia, 1991); Estonian (Elementary Degree from the University of Münster, Germany, in collaboration with the University of Tartu, Estonia, 1996); Mandarin Chinese (level V from the Confucius Institute of Valencia, 2009); French (training up to university level and EOI); and basic knowledge of other languages such as Italian. Dr. Maria Labarta has been an Associate Professor at the Department of English and German Philology since 2002 and a member of the IULMA (University Institute of Modern Languages) since 2005. She obtained her doctorate in Linguistics at the Free University of Berlin, where she also completed her master's studies in Germanic and Hispanic philology. She has professional experience teaching graduate and postgraduate courses in Spain, Germany, and Brazil. Additionally, she has conducted research at numerous universities abroad, including Germany (FU), New Zealand (UC Christchurch), Argentina (UBA), Brazil (UERJ, UFF, UFBA, and UFAL), and the USA (CUNY and UC Berkeley). Cecilia López Roig holds a degree in Philology (Anglo-Germanic Section) from the Universitat de València (1992) and a Ph.D. in Philology from the same university (2001). Her doctoral thesis, Aspectos de fraseología contrastiva (alemán-español) en el sistema y en el texto, supervised by Dr. Herbert J. Holzinger and Dr. Carlos Hernández Sacristán, received the grade of Outstanding cum laude unanimously and was published in 2002 by Peter Lang. Among other predoctoral scholarships, she received a scholarship from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), allowing her to undertake a research stay at the Universität Leipzig (1999). She has also completed research stays at the following universities: Universität Bremen (1993), Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (1994, 1996), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2006), Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (2009), and the Universität Wien (2010, 2013, 2023). She began her teaching career in 1995 at the University of Valencia. Since 2003, she has been a Senior Lecturer in German Philology at the UV. Over more than twenty years of teaching, she has taught courses in German linguistics, including German Lexicology and Lexicography, German Word Formation, German Morphology, and a German Language Monographic Course where she taught German Phraseology. She has also taught courses geared toward German-Spanish Translation, as well as German language courses from levels A1 to C1 for Philology and Translation students. In the field of German for Specific Purposes, she has taught the course Business German for students in Economics and Business Administration for several years. From 1999 to 2021, she was a lecturer in the Master's in Secondary Education Teacher Training (German Specialty) at the University of Valencia, where she has supervised over thirty Master's Theses. Her recent contributions to the university community include the following: (1) Coordinator of the German Philology Area from 2009 to 2012; (2) Member of the Academic Degree Committee for the Bachelor's in Modern Languages and Literatures from 2018 to 2021; (3) Supervisor of external internships in German Philology from 2002 to 2012; (4) Specialist Professor for the German section of the University Entrance Exams (PAU) at the Universitat de València from 2016 to 2021; (5) Instructor of the University Extension Courses at the Universittat de València (Nau Gran) German for Traveling I and German for Traveling II from 2017 to 2021. Belén Lozano Sañudo successfully completed her Degree in Translation and Interpretation in the University of Alicante in June 1999. Between September 2004 and January 2020 she has been working as a lecturer, first in the German area of the Modern Languages Department of the University of Alicante and, subsequently, in the German area of the Translation and Interpretation Department of the same University. In July 2019 she obtained her International PhD Title in Intercultural and Historical Transfers in the Mediterranean Medieval Europe in the University of Alicante. Since February 2021 she is Assistant Professor Doctor in the English and German Philology Department of the University of Valencia. From September 2014 until January 2017, she taught four editions of the subject Übersetzen juristischer Fachtexte Sp-De (Translation of legal texts Spanish-German) in the University of Applied Sciences Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal (Germany). She is member of the Higher Cooperative Research Institute ISIC-IVITRA of the University of Alicante and of the Institute for Applied Modern Languages (IULMA) of the University of Valencia. Her lines of research are the translation of children’s and young adult literature from English and German into Spanish and Catalan from the point of view of the Polysytem Theory, translation of legal texts, teaching of translation and machine translation.

Ferran Robles Sabater, B.A. in English Philology (2001) and German Philology (2002) at the Universitat de València, M.A. in Translation at the Universidad de Sevilla (2007) and Ph.D. in Philology at the Universitat de València (2006). He is full professor of German Linguistics (since 2024) at the English and German Studies Department of the Universitat de València. He has been director of the research group Contrastive Linguistics German-Iberoromance (CLiGIR) and is director of the Inter-University Institute for Applied Modern Languages (IULMA). His research focuses on discourse analysis, text grammar, contrastive linguistics (German vs. Spanish/Catalan) and didactic lexicography. He is chief editor of the international journal MonTI. Since 2010, she has been working as a German teacher and peer tutor at the Deutsches Kulturzentrum (Centro Aleman de Valencia). Since 2010, she has also been working as a German and Spanish teacher in different language academies and international schools in Valencia.
