ANNA M. BRÍGIDO-CORACHÁN completed her doctoral studies in Comparative Literature at New York University and was also granted a PhD in English Rhetoric and Linguistics at the University of Valencia in 2008. She is currently Associate Professor /Senior Lecturer at the Department of English and German Philology, where she teaches courses on North American literature and contemporary film at the Degree of English Studies and at the Master of Advanced English Studies. Prof. Brígido-Corachán is the Director of the Research Group LENA: North American Ethnic Minority Literatures in a Global Context (LENA - GIUV2019-457), which so far includes the research projects "North American (trans)Ethnic Literatures in a Global Context: Representations, Transformations, and Resistances" (GV/2019/114) and "Reconfigurations of gender, race, and class in ethnic minority literatures of the Obama/Trum Eras" (GV/AICO/2021/249), financed by Generalitat Valenciana. She also coordinates the Consolidated Teaching Innovation group NAPCED: Nuevas aplicaciones de la Pedagogía Crítica a la Educación Digital en la Literatura y la Cultura Audiovisual (GCID23_2580121), funded by the Office of Innovation and Transference at the University of Valencia. She is also Mobility Erasmus + Coordinator at the Degree of English Studies since 2023.

Her academic interests include contemporary U.S. literature, minority literatures and cultures in the Anglophone world, audiovisual languages, critical decolonial pedagogies, and educational ICTs, with a special research focus on contemporary Indigenous literature and history of the Americas, Indigenous traditional knowledge systems, ecocriticism, and the intersections between literature and film. Vicent Cucarella Ramon is Lecturer in English Studies at the Department of English and German at the University of València, Spain. He studied English Philology and obtained his PhD (2017) on African American literature. His research interests focus on U.S. and Canadian literature with a special emphasis on African American and African Canadian literatures as well as on the literature of the African Diaspora across the Black Atlantic. He has published articles in national and international journals, and also book chapters, on Black authors such as Zora Neale Hurston, Toni Morrison, Richard Wright, Langston Hughes, Jesmyn Ward, Wayde Compton, David Chariandy or Esi Edugyan, among others. He is the author of the book Sacred Femininity and the Politics of Affect in African American Women's Fiction (2018) and has also authored the critical edition of the abolitionist volume against Canadian slavery The Refugee: Narrative of Fugitive Slaves in Canada (2021) by Benjamin Drew. He is member of the research project "(Un)Housing: Dwelling, Materiality and the Self in American Literature" (PID2020-115172GB-I00) of the Spanish Ministry MINECO, and takes part in the project "(Trans)Ethnic Literatures in a Global Context: Representations, Transformations and Resistance" (GC/2019/114) and is also a member of the groups "British and American Transatlantic Women Writers" (BATWoW, GIUV2013-083) and CULIVIAN (GIUV2020-486). He is also a member of the Teaching Innovation group NAPCED.

Dr Maria Gaviña Costero is a lecturer at the English Department of Universitat de València, where she earned her PhD with a thesis about the dramatic oeuvre of Brian Friel. Her main research interests include contemporary Irish literature from a gender perspective, the relation between literature and conflict, and theatre reception. She has published several scholarly articles both in Spanish and in English on contemporary Northern Irish literature and its reception in Spain. She has contributed a chapter in the books Adaptations, Versions and Perversions in Modern British Drama; Ireland and Dysfunction: Critical Explorations in Literature and Film; Words of Crisis, Crisis of Words: Ireland and the Representation of Critical Times; Re-Thinking Literary Identities: Great Britain, Europe and Beyond, Non-Violent Resistance: Irreverence in Irish Culture, Trauma, Memory and Silence of the Irish Woman in Contemporary Literature: Wounds of the Body and the Soul and (Re)Writing War in Contemporary Literature and Culture: Beyond Post-Memory. She has published the book Érase una vez Ballybeg, on the reception of Brian Friel's drama in Spain. Víctor Huertas Martín studied English Philology (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), a Master's Degree in Literary and Theatrical Training and Research in the European Context (UNED), a Master's Degree in Audiovisual Scriptwriting (UNIR) and a PhD in Linguistic and Literary Studies (UNED). He has served as Director of the Department of English and German Philology and is currently Director of the University of Valencia MA in Advanced English Studies, Director of the University of Valencia Expert in International Legal English and Nau Gran English language program coordinator. He served as an Education Attaché at the Consulate General of Spain in Miami, as Education and Science Commissioner at the Embassy of Spain in Washington DC, and at the Embassy of Spain in Ottawa. In the Spanish foreign service, he negotiated and signed over a hundred Memoranda of Understanding and Cooperation Programs between Spain, the USA and Canada in the fields of education and science. He promoted the creation of the International Studies Charter High School in Miami, the project of bilingual ISA (International Spanish Academies), postdoctoral fellowship programs in North American universities and North American TAs (language and culture assistants) for Spanish bilingual schools.

He has directed nine doctoral dissertations, all of which received the highest mark, and four more are in progress.
    He is a member, among others, of the advisory board of the Journals Utopian Studies  (Penn State University Press), SELIM, etc., and is a reviewer for Bloomsbury Publishing, DeGruyter, AEDEAN, Epos, etc. ; he has served as external expert advisor in several programs at The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain (ANECA) and a member of the committee of academic experts of the Ministry of Education for the National Plan for the Improvement of Foreign Language Teaching.  He has also provided services as an expert in specialized translation of legal texts to several universities through the OTRI-UVEG. Expert guest speaker in the Congressional Briefing Series, US Congress on “Official English vs. English Plus: The US Language Policy Debate,” he has also been invited as an expert by the Education Committee of the Spanish Parliament.

Dina Pedro holds a B.A. in English Studies, an M.A. in Secondary Education Teacher, an M.A. in Advanced English Studies (MAES) and a PhD in Literature and Culture from the University of Valencia (UV).

Between 2018 and 2023 she was a funded PhD candidate (FPU grant awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Universities) at the Department of English and German at UV. In 2023 she worked as an Substitute Lecturer at the University of Córdoba (Spain). Since September 2023 she works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and German at UV.

Her research interests focus on the intersection of gender, trauma and postcolonialism in neo-Victorian gothic fiction. She has also recently started to research on ageing and medical humanities in young adult literature focusing on the figure of the vampire. 

She is a member of the research group LAP (Ref.: GIUV 2017-354, PI Laura Monrós-Gaspar) and the research project "Re-orienting Assemblage Theory in Anglophone Literature and Culture" (RELY), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (Ref.
