Tankats in Teatre Micalet

Tankats (Closed) is a group of young people born in 2012 in Alcoi, concretely in the IES Pare Vitoria high school during a closing as a protest against cutbacks in education. During that closing, some of the students brought instruments and improvised some music, and some teachers motivate us to make something similar but more prepared for the further closings and this is how the group Tankats was born. With a very large group of people we made our first concert at the IES Cotes Baixes high school. Later, after some concerts, we decided to take the group seriously and some of the members decided to leave the group, and that’s how we formed the current group: David Nadal, voices and saxophone; Edu Terol, voices and violin; Ferran Mora, dolçaina, voices and percussion; Isak Terol, guitars and voices; Sergi Ribes, guitars and voices; Jordi Miralles, bass and voices; Alonso García, drums and cajón (percussion instrument); Pau Gómez, manager; Carles Sansalvador, sound technician; Rosa Moltó, designer and photographer. TANKATS plays different styles of music but over all they play ska-rock-fusion music.
