La Conversa, the new Catalan-language edition of the international science communication platform The Conversation, is now available.
Published weekly, La Conversa will feature original articles in Catalan written by researchers from the universities of the Xarxa Vives, as well as selected translations of relevant articles from other international editions of The Conversation. Its aim is to provide a rigorous and accessible analysis of the major scientific, social, cultural and economic challenges of our time, while strengthening the direct connection between university research and society through specialist journalism.
With this launch, Catalan joins a prestigious global network of science communication operating in several countries and reaching a broad international readership. The Conversation publishes articles authored by academics and researchers and edited by professional journalists, in accordance with principles of independence, quality and public service.
La Conversa has been made possible through the joint efforts of 17 universities within the Xarxa Vives. The project is also supported by the Institut d’Estudis Catalans, the Institut Ramon Llull, the Institut Ramon Muntaner and the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI), with the collaboration of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
