In the Oxford English Dictionary you can look up the meaning, the history and the pronunciation of over 600,000 old and new words of all the English varieties. It also includes a synonym’s dictionary. Also available on Google Play and on the App Store.

Newbury House Dictionary is an American English dictionary.


The Diccionari de la llengua catalana multilingüe castellà-anglès-francès-alemany includes the Diccionari de la llengua catalana, with equivalences in Spanish, English, French and German, and four bilingual dictionaries: Spanish-Catalan, English-Catalan, French-Catalan and German-Catalan.

The Guardian publishes a glossary of terms related to businesses and commerce.


Terminology of European education and training policy is a glossary of 130 terms about education published by the EU in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Polish and Portuguese.  


The New York Times offers a games website where you can practise your English vocabulary. You will find, among others, Wordle and Spelling Bee.


The Refranero multilingüe contains a selection of popular Spanish sayings, mainly proverbs and refrains, with their equivalent in several languages (German, Catalan, French, Galician, Ancient Greek, Modern Greek, English, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Basque).

Encyclopaedia

The Encyclopædia Britannica is the oldest and most acknowledged general encyclopaedia written in English. Its articles are always considered as very rigorous and accurate. Available on the App Store.

Certification tests

The Centre d'Idiomes of the University of Valencia certifies your level of English with their Certification of Foreign Languages Tests 


The escoles oficials d'idiomes (Official Schools of Languages) of the Valencian Government call the tests to get official certificates of English. On their website you will find test samples and information to get ready for the tests


The Cambridge English Qualification Tests are internationally recognised.
