The Master’s Academic Coordinating Committee (CCA) is the responsible for verifying and applying the entry requirements specified in the Master’s Curriculum. Therefore, the CCA will consider the Article 17 of the Royal Decree 1393/2007, amended by the Royal Decree 861/2010, the regulations of the University of Valencia and the Master’s Curriculum, in particular regarding applicants with special educational needs resulting from disability. The CCA will evaluate the merits of each applicant based on the criteria set forth below, conducting personal interviews and/or all tests as it deems appropriate to assess and prioritise ,if necessary, the applications.

Master’s general entry requirements:

All applicants must demonstrate a knowledge of English reading comprehension equivalent to level B1. This accreditation may be made by submitting a certificate or qualification issued by an accredited centre or organisation or by passing a specific test organised by the master’s CCA, to be convened before the end of the enrolment period established by the University of Valencia.

Master’s specific entry requirements:

  1. The certification of holding the qualification of Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teaching of the University of Valencia, the Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude (CAP), or other equivalent qualification, will be enough to be admitted into the specific didactics pathway corresponding to the specialty studied in this master’s degree.
  2. The certification of holding the undergraduate degree, or other equivalent qualification in any of the specialties recognised in the Royal Decree of Specialisation for teachers of ESO (Spanish secondary education) and Bachillerato (Spanish upper secondary school education)(RD 1834/2008) will be enough to be admitted into the specific didactics pathway corresponding to the specialty studied in this master’s degree. These undergraduate degrees are, at least, the following: Fine Arts, Biology, Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, Life and Environmental Sciences, Higher Conservatory of Music, College of Dance, Statistics, Pharmacy, Philology, Physics, Geography, History, Engineering (Agricultural, Industrial, etc.), Mathematics, Medicine, Chemistry, Veterinary Medicine or other equivalent degrees.
  3. The certification of holding the “diplomatura” (former Spanish undergraduate degree) or the undergraduate degree in Preschool Education, or other equivalent degree will be enough to be admitted into the specialties of Physical Education Teaching, Music Teaching, Visual Arts Teaching and Language and Literature Teaching.
    Applicants who prove holding the qualification of undergraduate degree in Primary School Education, or other equivalent qualification, may be admitted if they can prove having completed a specialisation pathway, related to master’s degree specialty, chosen among those defined in the curriculum of the Degree in Primary School Education of the University of Valencia, or other equivalent training. The current pathways related to the master’s degree specialties are the following:
    1. Arts and Humanities Branch It provides access to the specialties of Visual Arts Teaching and Social Sciences Teaching.
    2. Sciences and Mathematics Branch. It provides access to the specialties of Experimental Sciences Teaching and Mathematics Teaching.
    3. Music Education Branch. It provides access to the specialties of Music Teaching.
    4. Physical Education Branch. It provides access to the specialties of Physical Education Teaching.
    5. Foreign Language Branch. It provides access to the specialties of Language and Literature Teaching.
  4. Applicants who prove holding the undergraduate degree in Primary School Education, Sciences of Education, Psychology or Teacher Training; or a Diploma in Education may be admitted if they can demonstrate having previously completed studies equivalent to a minimum of 18 credits of content of any of the degrees mentioned in the paragraph 2 related to the chosen master’s specialty.
  5. Applicants who prove holding the qualification of “licenciatura” (former Spanish undergraduate degree), undergraduate degree or any equivalent but who do not qualify for the special criteria referred in the above paragraphs (1 to 4), may be admitted if, in addition to the degree, they prove having at least 3 years of teaching experience in subjects related to their chosen field in official primary and/or secondary education centres with regulated teaching.
  6. Applicants who are graduates in Music from a Higher Conservatory of Music or in Dance from a College of Dance will have to prove having the Bachelor in any of these specialties.
  7. When applicants prove holding the “diplomatura”, “licenciatura” or undergraduate degree, or any other equivalent degree, and meet the general entry requirements (see section 2) but they do not qualify for the specific requirements mentioned in the below paragraphs (1 to 6), the master’s Academic Coordinating Committee (CCA) will consider applications individually and will assess the need to prove the teaching experience and/or a previous disciplinary training. The CCA will advise to each applicant in this situation the minimum studies he/she should take in order to be admitted into the master’s.
  8. When applicants prove holding a university degree issued in countries outside the European Higher Education Area and having completed the entry procedure in the University of Valencia indicated in section 2, the master’s Academic Coordinating Committee (CCA) will consider applications individually and will assess the need to prove the teaching experience and/or a previous disciplinary training. The CCA will advise to each applicant in this situation the minimum studies he/she should take in order to be admitted into the master’s.
