The University of Valencia plays an important role in the promotion of equality both in the institution itself and in its projection to society through training, search, knowledge transfer, cultural diffusion and sociocultural innovation. We understand that we can not leave the change of situations of gender inequality that we suffer to chance and in that sense, we maintain our commitment to equality policies, basic strategies to fight against discrimination and inequality based on sex.
At the University of Valencia we have an Equality Unit created by agreement of the Governing Council of October 2007 and whose main objective is to make effective the right to equal treatment and opportunities between women and men. Develop and develop the necessary programs to promote equality policies in the University and coordinate the specific actions that, in this sense, can be implemented by different bodies, centers and services are some of their tasks. In addition, we have the Observatory of Equality, a key tool to make visible the inequalities between women and men in the university environment based on studies and microinformes.
