The UV carries out an outstanding

task in the promotion of gender equality, not only

within the institution but also in social projection through training,

research, knowledge transfer, cultural spread

and socio-cultural innovation. The exhibition,

organised by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation,

Shows the Universitat’s contribution

through the work of two solid entities such as the Equality

Unit and the University Institute of Women

Studies.

The first thirteen panels of the exhibition shows the task

carried out by the Equality Unit in the management of

gender equality policies. They specify

the different Equality Plans implemented in the institution

(Y Pla de Igualdad, 2010-2012 e II Plan de Igualdad, 2013-

2017) as well as the function of the Equality Observatory,

a key tool to make inequalities among men and women visible

within the university field through different studies

and microreports. It centres around gender mainstreaming or transversality

in the work and activities

of several centres and services within the University,

who are responsible of the observance of the principle for equality between

men and women.

From panel fourteen on, the research activity

by the University Institute of Women Studies (IUED) is shown

through different projects, participation

in international collaborating programmes and the

development of specific study-lines.

It also exhibits its active participation

in university teaching, both at an undergraduate level

and at master’s degree and doctorate level, as well as the

non-regulated training activities: Research and Study

Cycles, ‘It is the time for women’ or the programme

Women and Development, this latter one established as

a permanent exchange with the Magreb countries

and Latin America. It is equally registered in the publishing collection

of Cuadernos Feministas (Feminists Books), the

awards and distinctions bestowed and the belonging to the Coordinating

Centre of Public Valencian Universities.
