The Huguet Foundation has recognized Carme Barceló, chair of the Arabic and Islamic Studies of the FFTiC, with 'Valencian of the Year 2018'.

Carme Barceló has been distinguished in recognition of her personal merits and her work as a philologist in the field of lexicon, onomastics and Andalusian toponymy, as a fundamental part of our culture. Since 1968, the Huguet Foundation has awarded this honorific prize to individuals or organizations that have excelled in their defense of the country's language, from any of its areas.
