On December 2nd and 3rd, the EUROSCICOMM2024 conference will take place in the Salón de Grados of the Faculty of Philology, Translation, and Communication. The event will address the current challenges in science communication.
EUROSCICOMM 2024 will bring together academics specialised in science communication, along with professionals from public and private institutions, to analyze the current state of public science communication and define effective strategies to engage audiences traditionally distant from science. This event, funded by the Generalitat Valenciana, is part of the COALESCE project, which aims to establish a European science communication observatory to provide resources for improving scientific communication before, during, and after crisis situations.

Held at the Salón de Grados of the Faculty of Philology, Translation, and Communication at the University of Valencia, the conference will feature prominent international speakers. Claire Wilkinson, professor and co-director of the Science Communication Unit at the University of West England in Bristol, will deliver the keynote address. Other participants include Annette Leßmöllmann, Chair of Science Communication at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and Joseph Roche, researcher and professor at Trinity College Dublin.
COALESCE Workshop
During the conference, a workshop will be held as part of the activities within the COALESCE project, focused on identifying the needs of audiences most distant from science to develop resources tailored to their demands. This workshop will be coordinated by Johana Magalhaes and Isabel Mendoza.
The conference is organized by the ScienceFlows research group in collaboration with the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) and ScienceForChange, with support from the Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation of the University of Valencia and the Polibienestar Institute.
